FIND NEW ADVENTURES WITH LANNA TRAIL

There are a lot of great places to hike in Thailand, but if we had to narrow it down to one, it would have to be Chiang Mai.

It has many trails that are perfect for a leisurely walk or a more challenging hike. There are also great places to stop along the way to eat and sleep. Lanna trail is an ongoing project to find a trail that links many remote villages in Chiang Mai.

Explore Lanna Trail

The trail passes through 2 villages. The total distance is 18 kilometers. This trail is suitable for any level. If you are a beginner you can also enjoy this hike by breaking the walk into two days.  The best time to hike is during raining and winter seasons.

The rainy season in the north of Thailand generally runs from June to October, and during this time the weather is typically warm and humid. While it can be more challenging to hike in the rain and the scenery can be more lush and green.

The winter season in the north of Thailand runs from November to February and is generally cooler and drier than the rest of the year. The cooler temperatures can make for more comfortable hiking conditions, and the lack of rain can make it easier to navigate the trails.

It's important to keep in mind, however, that the weather can be unpredictable and it's always a good idea to be prepared for a range of conditions when hiking. This means packing appropriate clothing and supplies, such as a rain jacket and mosquito repellant, and being aware of the forecast before setting out

How to Prepare before hiking in Lanna Trail

1. At least 1 liter of water
2. Some snacks/food to eat during our breaks.
3. Hiking shoes are recommended
4. Protection from the sun (eg a hat and sunscreen)
5. recommend wearing quick drying cloth

6. Raincoat and mosquito repellent

The preparation for hiking in the north of Thailand during the rainy season and the dry season can be different in several ways. Here are some factors to consider:

Rainy Season (Typically June to October)

  • Weather: Expect heavy rainfall, increased humidity and possible thunderstorms. Bring waterproof gear and be prepared for slippery and muddy trails.

  • Clothing: Lightweight, quick-drying clothing and rain gear is a must. Avoid cotton as it takes a long time to dry and can make you feel colder.

  • Footwear: Hiking boots with good traction are important for the slippery and muddy trails. Make sure they are also waterproof.

  • Supplies: Make sure to pack extra food, water, and other essentials in case of delays due to inclement weather. A waterproof bag or dry bag is also recommended to keep your belongings dry.

Dry Season (Typically November to May)

  • Weather: Expect hot, sunny and dry conditions with minimal rainfall.

  • Clothing: Lightweight and breathable clothing is best to stay cool and comfortable. Sun protection like a hat and sunglasses are important.

  • Footwear: Hiking boots with good traction are still important, but they don’t need to be waterproof.

  • Supplies: Pack enough food, water, and other essentials for the hike. Don’t forget to bring sunscreen and stay hydrated to prevent sunstroke and heat exhaustion.

It's important to check the local weather forecast and trail conditions before heading out for a hike, as weather can change quickly in the mountains and can impact your safety.
